Resident Evil Requiem temp

New short but sweet gameplay footage for Resident Evil Requiem

During its latest Spotlight event, Capcom showcased a short but sweet gameplay video for Resident Evil 9, Resident Evil Requiem. The video shows both the first-person and third-person viewpoints. So, make sure to watch it if you are looking forward to it.

Resident Evil: Requiem will use the powerful RE Engine, and it looks amazing. This will be a single-player survival horror game. You’ll play as Grace Ashcroft, and your goal is to stay alive in a terrifying adventure that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

The devs say that with new technology and their experience, the game will have strong characters and really immersive gameplay. This new RE game aims to pull you into the story more than ever before.

There were rumors that Resident Evil: Requiem would have two main characters. One was Grace, and the other was meant to be Leon S. Kennedy. But in the video, the devs said Leon doesn’t really fit the horror feel of the game. So, the game will probably focus solely on Grace. That, or we might be able to control Leon in very few parts of the game. Or perhaps in a DLC? Who knows.

The concept for this game was “addictive fear“. Since horror is one of the most important aspects of the series, the devs wanted to make this fear factor a key feature of the gameplay. As such, Grace will learn to overcome her fears throughout the course of the story.

The game will be set 30 years after the missile strike on Raccoon City. Resident Evil is tied to both Umbrella and Raccoon City. And that’s why the devs wanted to go back to the outbreak.

Like I said, the gameplay video is really short – just a few seconds long. So don’t expect too much from it. Still, most Resident Evil fans will probably be happy to see anything new right now.

Capcom will release Resident Evil Requiem on February 27th, 2026.

Enjoy and stay tuned for more!
