Here are 3 minutes of new gameplay footage from MindsEye

MindsEye is a new story-based, single-player action-adventure game. Developed by Build A Rocket Boy, it will come out on PC on June 10th. Strangely, there’s no official gameplay trailer for it yet. But luckily, YouTuber Punish shared a video showing 3 minutes of gameplay.

In this game, you play as Jacob Diaz. Jacob is a former soldier with a mysterious neural implant who is suffering from memory loss and flashbacks.

Players will go on risky secret missions to uncover the truth about their past. The game’s world will be full of dangers like smart robots, and crazy science experiments. You will also encounter spying companies, corrupt leaders, and a powerful army that no one controls.

As you will see, this video is 9 minutes long. The new gameplay footage is its first three minutes. Then, the YouTuber added all of the game’s trailers (so that he could extend the length of the video).

In the new gameplay footage, we get to see some driving and some action. So, let’s dive in.

Let’s start with the driving. In my opinion, it looks fine. The game also has a basic level of distractibility in the city. So, in a way, it will remind you of GTA and Watch_Dogs.

The over-the-shoulder shooting also seems fine. It will not blow you away, but then again, it appears to be fine. However, the enemy AI is all over the place. It’s really bad. So, don’t expect to be fighting intelligent or clever enemies.

There is also something weird with the running animations. They look rough and “amateuri-ish”. I can’t really pinpoint what is wrong with them. However, I’ve played a lot of third-person games and these animations do not look good.

I’m pretty sure that this gameplay footage is from a beta build. However, the game is one month away from release. As such, there are two possibilities. Either this is from an old beta build, or it’s from the review build that some people may already have on their hands. Whatever the case, it looks like it’s coming in hot.

It’s also worth noting that MindsEye is priced at 59.99 euros. So, at that price, gamers will have high expectations. And, if you expect a game as polished as CP2077 or GTA, you will be disappointed.

Finally, MindsEye will use Unreal Engine 5. However, it’s still unclear if it will support Lumen or Nanite. Also, IO Interactive hasn’t revealed the PC system requirements yet. But don’t worry. We’ll be sure to share them as soon as they are announced.

Enjoy and stay tuned for more!
